Book Review: Identified Flying Objects by Robert Loftin

When I picked up this book I wasn't expecting to get a little history of Ufology. I suppose that I should have known that was what I was going to get considering that the book was published in '68. The author touches on sightings as way back as 1860. Actually the book was chock full of sitings and this was the only aspect of the book that made it a little difficult to read. The format Date, Area, Sighting was used in about 30 some pages toward the end of the book. However the sightings listed are perfect examples of further research topics and the reason I am interested in the first place, so I really cannot complain.

One of the biggest points that Loftin makes through out the book repeatedly is "Why would the Air Force spend almost $500,000 of taxpayers' money on this investigation if they knew there was no such thing as a flying saucer or UFO?"

Overall, Loftin provides a very medial view while discussing both sides, public and government sides of the UFO topic.

Loftin passed away a few after the book was published. I took the liberty of adding him and this book to goodreads.com username: highwaycatcherRelated articles

I Know What I Saw (2011)

I watched this documentary entitled "I Know What I Saw" (2011) when it first aired. I am re-watching it tonight. It's a pretty excellent one and I suggest you watch it.

On a lighter note!

Another NASA Video Footage of UFOs

GoogleCheck out :16 sec UFO streaks across the sky
3:40 UFO moves entering the frame and because a part of the storm cloud but the light never seems to go out!
4:58 UFO emerges out of the clouds!

Reexamining Old NASA footage

GoogleThis is the video clip of the highly discussed STS-48 footage showing a number of unidentified objects, including one that makes an abrupt turn. This is original footage in its entirety. Very good video quality.
From Nasa Mission STS-48, circa September, 1991. Please pay close attention in the upper right quadrant of the video from 1:30 - 2 minutes. You will see a supposed "ice particle" make a very strange maneuver!

Former CIA Agent on his Deathbed Reveals UFO TRUTH!!!

Google

This is a pretty interesting interview if this guy is who he says he is. Thinking about everything he witnessed is pretty unreal.

Man Summons UFO

Google

This is pretty neat, considering the new caster claims they set the time, place and day. I will totally believe this guy can summon a UFO if they could do this multiple times. He states that he has learned how to summon the UFOs from the Old Testament! I would be convinced if I witnessed it myself and not just advertised on the news.

COSMOS! Remake!

Google

Neil deGrasse Tyson is a cosmic badass for sure! Carl Sagan's Cosmos (1980) has been remade and is set to air on FOX sometime in Spring of 2014. I can't wait to watch it, as I have watched the original series (which can be found on Netflix).

Have you seen this movie?

GoogleIf you haven't, then you should. Network is by far one of my most favorite movies. While watching the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure 2013 and listening to Paul Hellyer speak, he brought this movie to mind.

I implore you to watch it, this is just a clip but I believe it is still available on Netflix. This movie is also closely related and should still be available on Netflix and free on YouTube here:

I believe these movies are important to watch because they are a true display of how the world really works. These films teach you not to believe everything that was taught to you in school. They teach you to do your own research and question everything that you hear and read and watch. I hope that you watch these movies, enjoy them and come back to tell me what you think.

What is the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure?

From April 29, 2013 to May 3, 2013 researchers, activists, political leaders, and military/agency witnesses representing ten countries gave testimony in Washington, DC to six former members of the United States Congress on the evidence for an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race. The Citizen Hearing on Disclosure was an unprecedented event in terms of size, scope and the involvement of former members of the U. S. Congress. With over 30 hours of testimony from forty witnesses over five days, the event was the most concentrated body of evidence regarding the extraterrestrial issue ever presented to the press and the general public at one time. The Hearing was also broadcast live over the Internet. You can watch the highlights here in these two videos:

There were many special appearances during the disclosure such as:

Stephen Bassett
Linda Molten Howe
Edgar Mitchell
Grant Cameron
Stanton Friedman

"Yes! We are not alone!" -Edgar Mitchell, PhD, former astronaut.

"It's time for a new view of ourselves and our place in the universe." -Stanton Friedman, Nuclear Physicist.

Eric Davis, Physicist, Explains Why Scientists Won't Discuss Their UFO Interests

Google

Dr. Eric W. Davis, FBIS received his Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Arizona in 1991. His fields of specialization include spacecraft exploration of the outer solar system, planetary sciences, relativity theory and cosmology, space mission engineering, and NASA Breakthrough Propulsion Physics.

He's aware of the public perception -- mostly from skeptics and debunkers -- that no legitimate scientists would ever touch the subject of UFOs.

"They're wrong, naive, stubborn, narrow-minded, afraid and fearful. It's a dirty word and a forbidden topic. Science is about open-minded inquiry. You shouldn't be laughing off people. You should show more deference and respect to them ... Scientists need to get back to using the scientific method to study things that are unknown and unusual, and the UFO subject is one of them."

Eric has authored papers and given recognized presentations on quantum vacuum (zero point energy), traversable wormholes, warp drive and antimatter propulsion physics. He has also been recognized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics for outstanding contributions to national defense and space public policy, and received recognition from the State of Arizona Economic Conversion Council for contributions to commercial conversion of small-medium space and defense businesses in Arizona.

While speaking at the SSE event (see above) during the question and answer session, Dr. Davis was asked whether UFOs had “. . . guided [the] thinking and research” of such speculative matters as warp drive and traversable wormholes.

Dr. Davis responded, “Secretly yes and overtly no.” He explained that because “. . . UFOs don’t have credibility with mainstream academic researchers,” and because policy-makers and funding agencies “. . . don’t like the topic of UFOs,” some members of the group were forced to “. . . consider it under the table.”

...I think I love this guy!
