Huffington Post: Paranormal Radio Host Art Bell Mysteriously Disappears From SiriusXM

ARTBELLRADIO

The master of UFOs, fringe science and conspiracy theory is apparently at odds with SiriusXM over live streaming for his millions of fans.
The 68-year-old co-creator of the hugely successful "Coast to Coast AM" retired from his full-time role of master of the macabre in 2003, after 15 years. Over that span, he went from mainstream talk to a highly successful foray into unexplained phenomena, turning the syndicated juggernaut into the most listened to overnight show in North America.
The late night show's reins were comfortably taken over by the popular George Noory.
This past July, SiriusXM Satellite Radio announced that Bell would launch a new, live, nightly call-in show, "Art Bell's Dark Matter," in September.
But since Bell's new program Sept. 16 premiere, there have been, according to Bell on his website, many problems with streaming his show.
"Many thousands of my listeners came on board when it began but they have fallen off because of that reason," Bell said. "It's a systemic problem. For a caller-driven show like this one, speaking only to people on cell phones in moving vehicles is somewhat difficult.
"The show also is being pirated, oh you have no idea. We are all over the Net right now, from YouTube to a server in England, for example, that's streaming the show live. And because of all this, I have asked SiriusXM to alter their normal method of doing business and allow free streaming for everybody from artbell.com.
"If we get the opportunity to do this streaming, we will kick some serious butt...If not, we may not have a viable situation going forward."
It appears that SiriusXM has decided not to work things out for Bell, as his website now indicates he posted the following on his Facebook page:
"Sometimes when you are 'all in' you win, sometimes lose. By mutual agreement, Dark Matter will no longer air as of tonight."

HuffPost's call to SiriuxXM for a comment on this Bell rumor was not returned. When we contacted Noory (pictured at left), the top overnight radio host in the country, for his reaction, he merely said, "No comment."
Plus, an unnamed source scheduled for an appearance on Bell's show received an email from someone in Bell's camp, which stated: "I regret to inform you (and all upcoming guests) that "Art Bell's Dark Matter" program will no longer be airing live shows effective immediately. I'm really thankful for your efforts with regards to being on the program and I truly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
"Should events change in the future, I'll be sure to let you know."
The show had only been on the air since Sept. 16, and tonight's program is a scheduled repeat, after only being on SiriusXM for just six weeks.
And once again, Art Bell's radio voice is quiet.

OpenMinds: UFO photo captured over San Diego

 April 29, 2015

Several San Diego residents reported spotting mysterious lights on Tuesday night, and one witness was able to snap a picture.
According to NBC 7 San Diego, viewer Larry Fox sent them a picture of an odd light he spotted in the night sky. NBC 7 described the picture as “a string of multicolored lights.”
Fox reported that he was in his backyard when he saw the strange light to the southwest. He says he ruled out a drone or a plane because the light was stationary.
“It was a series of flashing lights,” he told NBC 7. “If it was a plane, it would have moved.”
NBC 7 reported that Fox described the lights as “red, blue and green,” and that the lights “kept flashing and changing colors.”

Apparently, Fox was not the only one to see the lights. NBC 7 says they heard from several other viewers who saw them, and even one of their own photographers says he saw the lights.
Although the image shows what appears to be multiple lights, or one long illuminated streak, it is very similar to pictures of a single point of light that looks like it is moving due to camera shake. At night cameras will keep the aperture open longer in order to capture more light. If the camera is moved during this time, the image will create a motion blur effect.
Often bright stars are photographed and mistaken as UFOs due to this effect.
As for the colors, stars will often look like they blink and change colors due to the atmosphere, and if the star is closer to the horizon, then there is more atmosphere to look through, and in a big city, there is also pollution.
In 2013, a resident of the town of Oshawa in Ontario, Canada took this UFO picture (below) of what he thought was a UFO. He says it was a bright point of light, but the object looks like a streak because of camera shake.

The biggest culprit when it comes to celestial objects being mistaken for UFOs is Venus. It may seem odd, but Venus is remarkably bright in the night sky, and it is easy to mistake it for something else. According toEarthSky.org, it is in the night sky this month, and very bright. Their site says this month Venus is the “brightest planet and third-brightest object in the sky after the sun and moon – climbs higher up at dusk, and stays out later after dark, than it did in March 2015.”

So was it Venus that was captured in this photograph in San Diego? It’s possible. But then again, perhaps there is another picture out there that can prove it is something much more mysterious.

It might take a few days for the actors to feel at home again, but David Duchovny guarantees that The X-Files reboot will be one crazy ride when it hits your TV screen.
“It’s been a while since I’ve played Mulder, so it’s going to be strange, for sure, the first couple days,” the actor, 54, tells the Hollywood Reporter of returning to his famous supernatural-investigating FBI agent character for a six-episode series.
But with costar Gillian Anderson and series creator Chris Carter on board, Duchovny knows they’ll get right back in the swing of things.
“We can all check on each other and say, ‘Is this the show?’ ” he says. “We’ll find it. It’s just a matter of relaxing and letting it happen.”
In addition to the TV series, which ran from 1993 until 2002, there were two X-Files movies – one in 1998 and another in 2008. Duchovny always figured they’d do a third movie rather than revive the TV show. But he says the upcoming series will be the best of both worlds.
“We just could make it like a six-hour movie,” he recalls saying to Anderson and Carter.
It’s been 13 years since the otherworldly procedural went off the air, during which time Duchovny did a whole seven-season run of Californication. But not much will have changed in The X-Files world, he says.
“It’s obviously going to be different times, and the characters are going to be older, and all of the things that are going to be changing naturally will change,” says Duchovny, who stars in NBC’s upcoming drama Aquarius. But in the end, he adds, “it’s going to be the same show.”
Production on the six new episodes begins this summer.
